Explore Math Project

Write the following set in set-builder notation:
Each term in the set increases by an odd number. The difference between the first two terms is 3, the difference between the next two terms is 5, the difference between the next two terms is 7, etc. Now that we have recognized the pattern, our only challenge is expressing this in set builder notation. |
For my first explore math project, I wanted to do something with the trending trivia app “HQ”. Essentially, the game has a live host who asks 12 questions ranging from easy to hard. The player has 10 seconds to pick from 3 possible answers. The winner(s) win/split the prize, which ranges from 1,500$ to 20,000$.

Financial Modeling

For my 2nd math exploration, I wanted to look into polling from the 2016 election, but specifically I wanted to look at the question, how were our polling numbers so wrong? So, to do this, I looked at some of the final polls from major news sources in the 2016 election.

In this paper, I consider some typical financial applications that I or your family might encounter.

Here is a fun challenge that I found online. Obviously 1 does not equal 2. Try to find the problem with this proof!
Prove: 1=2 ... |
Proof:
Lemma: √3 is irrational. For the sake of contradiction, suppose that √3 is rational... |
